Small actions at home can make a big impact.

Most people want to protect the planet, but they’re not always sure where to start.

According to a 2021 P&G study in the U.S., 72% of people want to do more to be sustainable at home and nearly 90% of parents are inspired by their children to do so. But fewer than half of people make environmentally conscious choices at home as often as they’d like, and for most people, “not knowing how” was identified as the biggest barrier to acting sustainably.

Through the It’s Our Home campaign, launched in April 2021, we want to close the intention-to-action gap by inspiring people to take small actions at home. Closing the gap and unlocking change at home has the potential to positively impact the planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, electricity, water use and more.

This means the small changes we make — such as using cold water for laundry, taking shorter showers, turning off the tap while brushing our teeth or shaving, and recycling more — can make a big impact.

When you select It’s Our Home as your cause of choice and engage with us, we’ll donate to help support youth environmental education through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Campus K-12 program. You can also donate your P&G Good Everyday points to plant trees through the Arbor Day Foundation.

We are committed to using our voice, reach, innovation and expertise to make responsible consumption irresistible.

Environmental sustainability has been embedded into how we do business for many years. We’re on track to reach ambitious 2030 goals in sustainability, including:

  • To be carbon neutral for the decade

  • To have 100% recyclable or reusable packaging

  • To reduce virgin plastic use by 50%

We are accelerating action on climate change by setting an ambition to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and supply chain, from raw material to retailer, by 2040.

As part of our commitment to help make sustainable choices easier for the 5 billion people we serve every day, we’re building sustainability into our product and packaging innovation. And we will continue to provide tools and information on how small actions at home can help make a world of difference for the planet. P&G and Charmin are partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation. Join us.

P&G and our brands have strong partnerships with various organizations that help us to protect and restore our planet. P&G and Charmin, for example, have had a longstanding relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation to protect and enhance the forests we all depend on.

Together, P&G and Charmin are supporting the planting of 1 million trees through the Arbor Day Foundation between 2020 and 2025, including in areas devastated by natural disasters, such as wildfires.

Charmin is committed to helping keep forests as forests for generations to come. Watch this video to learn more.

Arbor Day Foundation is inspiring the next generation of tree stewards.

Founded in 1972, the Arbor Day Foundation is the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the planting of trees. The Arbor Day Foundation works to restore forests, improve tree cover in communities, and inspire the next generation of tree planters.

In fact, more than 1 million members, supporters and partners have helped plant nearly 500 million trees throughout the world, helping to ensure a greener and healthier future for everyone.

One way the Arbor Day Foundation inspires the next generation of tree stewards is through its Tree Campus K-12 program, which provides youth with experiences that bring the benefits of trees to life both inside and outside the classroom. The program fosters positive connections between youth and the trees in their communities and cultivates within its participants a lifelong respect for trees on a global scale.
